Gregson Residence
1,800 sf addition and new garage/office

The Gregson Residence is located in The Cloisters, a neighborhood comprised of Modern and Ranch houses from the late 1970s. The new addition seeks to knit together the original structure and a prior addition. On the ground floor the new addition houses a light-filled library with cherry bookshelves. The library opens to a new covered patio which leads to a garden area and the new garage/office beyond.

An open cherry and steel stair suspended from a board-cast concrete wall leads from the library to the master suite on the second floor. The"walls" in the master suite are made of ship-lap cherry and stop two feet below the ceiling. The free-standing wall that demarcates the bath is made of natural mosaic stone.
